Baker's manzanita is a California native shrub found in the coastal regions of northern California in chaparral and woodland habitats. Flowering from January to March, this plant produces pale pink to white urn-shaped flowers in small pendant clusters. Growing erectly to 1 to 3 meters tall with smooth, reddish-brown bark and stiff branches, it forms a distinctive compact shape. Its leaves are dark green, elliptic to ovate, 2.5 to 3 centimeters long with a wedge-shaped base and entire margins. The fruit is a depressed-spheric drupe approximately 8 to 10 millimeters wide with variably fused stones.
