Strawberry-blite is a California native annual found in various habitats across the state's diverse landscapes. Flowering from summer to early fall, this plant produces small spherical clusters of flowers that mature from green to a distinctive bright red, resembling tiny strawberries. Growing 15 to 100 centimeters tall with erect branching stems, it has a distinctive appearance with triangular leaves that range from 25 to 100 millimeters long. Its leaves are typically deltate in shape, with edges that can be entire or sharply toothed, and have a tapered base that may be slightly hastate. The plant's unique fruiting clusters develop from the top of the plant downward, creating an intriguing progression of color from green to deep red.
