Narrow-leaf mountain trumpet is a California native annual found in the Klamath Ranges, Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada, San Bernardino Mountains, and Great Basin in open areas at elevations of 600 to 3,650 meters. Flowering from May to August, this plant produces white to pink flowers in clusters of 7 to 20 blooms. Growing with erect stems 10 to 40 centimeters tall, sometimes branching above with internodes that have reflexed short white hairs. Its leaves range from lanceolate to linear, with basal leaves sometimes toothed and lower cauline leaves slightly glandular. The delicate white to pink flowers have corollas 8 to 15 millimeters long, with filaments attached at multiple levels and white pollen.
