cuneifolia cinquefoil is a California native perennial found in rocky, mountainous habitats at elevations between 1,500 to 3,000 meters. Flowering from May to August, this plant produces small yellow flowers about 2 to 4 millimeters wide with narrow-obovate petals. Growing in a matted, open pattern with glandular stems generally sparse at the base, it spreads in a loose, delicate form. Its compound leaves have 3 to 5 lateral leaflet pairs, with terminal leaflets that are flattened to rounded and feature single teeth on each side. The plant produces small brown fruits that develop after flowering.
