Dudleya saxosa
Panamint dudleya
Family: Crassulaceae · Type: perennial · Native
Panamint dudleya is a California native perennial found in desert mountain regions, growing in rocky habitats at elevations typical of arid mountain landscapes. Flowering from late spring to summer, this succulent produces small white to pale yellow flowers with lance-oblong petals in delicate clusters. Growing in tight rosettes 6 to 23 centimeters wide, the plant forms compact clusters with evergreen leaves that remain glaucous and blue-green in youth. Its leaves are lance-oblong with acute tips, adapting to drought conditions by reducing green tissue during dry periods. The plant's flowering stalks often have a reddish tinge, rising 5 to 51 centimeters tall and adding visual interest to its rocky habitat.
