Asian waterwort is a naturalized perennial found in the Central Valley (GV) bioregion in vernal pools and wet places at elevations of 10 to 100 meters. Flowering from June to August, this plant produces delicate white or pink flowers with three petals that are slightly longer than its sepals. Growing with nearly erect stems 1 to 8 centimeters tall, the plant has a compact, low-growing form. Its leaves are lanceolate to oblong-elliptic, with petals approximately one-quarter the length of the blade. The fruit develops with three chambers, and seeds are narrow-oblong and gently curved, with approximately 20 pits per row.
