Family: Asteraceae · Type: perennial · Native

Brewer's erigeron is a California native perennial found in the southern California Transverse Ranges and southern California Peninsular Ranges in open, dry slopes and washes at elevations of 300 to 1,600 meters. Growing with erect stems 30 to 75 centimeters tall and a somewhat thick base, it forms an upright, open clump. Its leaves are relatively small, 20 to 35 millimeters long, with very fine hairs less than 0.1 millimeters in length. The plant's flower heads feature phyllaries with short, white, thin-based hairs that are slightly appressed and less dense on the inner bracts.
