Erigeron breweri var. breweri

Brewer's daisy

Family: Asteraceae · Type: perennial · Native

Brewer's daisy is a California native perennial found in the Sierra Nevada and San Bernardino Mountains in open, rocky habitats at elevations of 1,200 to 3,100 meters. Flowering from June to September, this plant produces white to lavender daisy-like flowers in heads with narrow, green-tipped phyllaries. Growing with slender stems 20 to 60 centimeters tall and strongly developed woody roots, it forms compact clumps in alpine and subalpine environments. Its leaves are 15 to 40 millimeters long, with minimal surface hairs and a delicate texture. The plant's dense, glandular inflorescence and distinctive root system make it well-adapted to high-elevation rocky terrain.
