Deeth wild buckwheat is a California native annual found in northern Sierra Nevada Mountains in sandy habitats at elevations of 1,500 to 1,900 meters. Flowering from June to September, this plant produces small white to pale flowers in delicate, open clusters. Growing with slender stems to approximately 30 centimeters tall, it spreads in loose, branching formations across sandy ground. Its leaves are typically narrow and elongated, arranged alternately along the stem. The plant's glabrous involucres and peduncles contribute to its distinctive sparse, open structure.
