Many-flowered monkeyflower is a California native annual found in the central Sierra Nevada Forests, western Inyo Mountains, and eastern Mojave Desert Mountains, particularly in the Panamint Range, inhabiting sandy washes, streams, seeps, and springs at elevations below 2,500 meters. Flowering from April to August, this plant produces yellow flowers with a corolla tube 5 to 12 millimeters long and limb about 3 to 4 millimeters wide. Growing 3 to 22 centimeters tall with erect to decumbent stems that are generally hairy and slightly slimy, it develops a variable growth habit. Its leaves are lanceolate to ovate, 8 to 25 millimeters long, with bases ranging from truncate to heart-shaped and veins arranged approximately pinnately. The fruit develops 4 to 7 millimeters long, completing its seasonal reproductive cycle.
