Stanislaus monkeyflower is a rare (CNPS 1B.1) California native annual found in central California on streambanks and seeps at elevations of 100 to 900 meters. Flowering from March to May, this plant produces yellow flowers with a distinctive tubular throat that extends 4 to 5 millimeters beyond the calyx. Growing 7 to 28 centimeters tall with glandular hairy stems, it has a delicate and somewhat sprawling form. Its leaves are ovate to elliptic, measuring 15 to 30 millimeters long with petioles 7 to 15 millimeters in length. Flowers emerge individually from the axils of the plant's upper leaves, creating a subtle and intricate botanical display.
