Pink margined monkeyflower is a rare (CNPS 1B.3) California native annual found in clay soils at elevations of 1,300 to 2,000 meters. Flowering from June to August, this plant produces pale yellow to light purplish flowers with distinctive pink-bordered petals. Growing with delicate stems 5 to 15 centimeters tall and minutely puberulent throughout, it forms a small, compact plant. Its leaves are approximately ovate to elliptic-ovate, measuring 6 to 17 millimeters long with petioles 4 to 8 millimeters in length. The flowers feature a yellow tube-throat and pale petals with striking pink margins, creating a delicate and unique appearance.
