Clark mountain green-gentian is a rare (CNPS 1B.2) California native perennial found in the Clark Mountains in dry, open woodland at elevations of 1,500 to 2,200 meters. Flowering from May to July, this plant produces white flowers with puberulent calyx lobes and distinctive nectary pits that are nearly truncate or slightly notched at the tip. Growing with erect stems that feature puberulent branches, it develops a distinctive gentian-like growth form. Its leaves are arranged in a pattern typical of gentians, creating a structured and elegant appearance along the stem. The plant represents a unique botanical treasure of the Clark Mountain range, highlighting the specialized flora of this isolated desert mountain ecosystem.
