Round leaved geranium is a naturalized annual found in central coastal California, southern coastal ranges, and southern California islands in open, disturbed sites at elevations below 200 meters. Flowering in May, this plant produces rose-purple flowers 6 to 7 millimeters long with rounded petals. Growing with ascending to erect stems 10 to 40 centimeters tall covered in rough, spreading hairs, it has a delicate branching structure. Its leaves are divided into 5 to 7 obtriangular segments, with blades 1.9 to 4.4 centimeters wide. The fruit develops as a smooth mericarp with a narrow 12 to 13 millimeter beak, bearing deeply pitted seeds.
