Guggolz's harmonia is a rare (CNPS 1B.1) California native annual found on the eastern edge of the North Coast Ranges in serpentine slopes near Hopland, Mendocino County at elevations of 100 to 200 meters. Flowering from April to May, this plant produces white ray flowers 4 to 5 millimeters long with distinctive disk flowers clustered in erect heads. Growing 10 to 30 centimeters tall with an unbranched central stem where most leaves are concentrated, it has a distinctive growth pattern with branches supporting flower heads. Its leaves are primarily located on the central stem and just below the branches supporting flower heads, with a sparse, strategic placement. The flower heads feature 3 to 6 coarsely hairy phyllaries, with ray flowers surrounded by 8 to 13 disk flowers, some of which are bisexual.
