Family: Rosaceae · Type: perennial · Native
Conservation status: CNPS 2B.3
Owyhee ivesia is a rare (CNPS 2B.3) California native perennial found in western bioregions in volcanic crevices at elevations around 2,150 meters. Flowering from June to July, this plant produces delicate white petals in small, distinctive clusters. Growing with slender stems emerging from rocky terrain, it forms compact clumps typically low to the ground. Its leaves are finely divided, creating a dense, intricate foliage pattern that helps the plant blend into its harsh volcanic habitat. The plant's small white flowers emerge from pedicels 6 to 12 millimeters long, with hypanthium bracts less than half the length of the sepals.
