Linanthus pungens subsp. hallii

Family: Polemoniaceae · Type: perennial · Native

Hall's linanthus is a California native perennial found in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains in open, rocky areas at elevations of 1,500 to 1,600 meters. Flowering from May to August, this plant produces white to pale lavender flowers in compact clusters. Growing with slender stems 10 to 20 centimeters tall, it forms low-spreading clumps with non-glandular hairs. Its leaves are generally unlobed, with narrow, linear blades that create a delicate, sparse foliage. The plant's distinctive three-lobed bracts add subtle textural interest to its overall compact form.
