Cascade grass-of-parnassus is a rare (CNPS 2B.2) California native perennial found in the Klamath Ranges in wet places at elevations of 700 to 2,900 meters. Flowering from August to September, this plant produces white flowers 5 to 10 millimeters wide with delicate fringed petals. Growing with slender stems 20 to 40 centimeters tall, it has a graceful, upright habit. Its leaves are broad, with larger blades up to 5 centimeters wide, creating a lush green backdrop for its delicate blooms. The flower's distinctive fringe filaments, measuring 1 to 3 millimeters long, add an intricate texture to this elegant wetland species.
