Profuse-flowered pogogyne is a native annual herb found in the Modoc Plateau in vernal pools and seasonal lakes at elevations of 1,000 to 1,500 meters. Flowering from June to August, this plant produces white flowers with purple spots, approximately 4.5 to 6 millimeters long, arranged in elongate spike-like inflorescences 10 to 25 millimeters wide. Growing with ascending to erect stems 4 to 10 centimeters tall, it branches at the base and has sparse to dense short hairs. Its flowers have a hairy calyx with tube 2 to 3 millimeters long and lobes 1.5 to 5 millimeters long, featuring two to four stamens. The fruit is small, measuring 2 to 2.5 millimeters long.
