Rorippa palustris subsp. hispida
Family: Brassicaceae · Type: perennial · Native
Marsh yellow-cress is a California native perennial found in the Modoc Plateau in generally wet places at elevations of 1,200 to 1,500 meters. Flowering from June to August, this plant produces pale yellow flowers in small clusters. Growing with stems densely covered in stiff bristles, it reaches heights typical of wetland herbs. Its leaves are also densely bristly, particularly on the undersides, giving the plant a distinctly rough texture. The stems and foliage create a bristly, somewhat prickly appearance characteristic of this wetland-dwelling herb.
