slender eryngo is a California native annual found in the central Sierra Nevada Foothills in woodland openings at elevations of 300 to 1,200 meters. Flowering from May to October, this plant produces white flowers in heads arranged singly or in small clusters along branch nodes. Growing with delicate branching stems to approximately 30 to 50 centimeters tall, it develops sparse, narrow foliage. Its leaves are generally narrow and elongated, becoming smaller and more linear toward the upper stem. The fruit develops with tan pappus bristles that are feathery on the upper portion and slightly widened at the base.
