Large-flowered triteleia is a native perennial found in northern Klamath Range and northern California Range in grasslands, sagebrush, and pine forest habitats at elevations of 100 to 3,000 meters. Flowering from April to June, this plant produces white to blue-purple flowers 17 to 35 millimeters long with spreading perianth lobes. Growing with slender scapes 20 to 75 centimeters tall, it emerges from a base of long, narrow leaves 20 to 70 centimeters in length. Its leaves are 4 to 10 millimeters wide, with ascending flower pedicels 10 to 40 millimeters long. The flowers feature yellow or purple anthers and are subtly arranged with stamens attached at two different levels.
