Chenopodium brandegeeae is a California native plant found in the Peninsular Ranges bioregion (except the San Jacinto Mountains) in disturbed and burned areas at elevations of 300 to 3,500 meters. Flowering from July to September, it grows erect to 30 to 100 centimeters tall, branching mainly from the base, with elliptic to lanceolate, sickle-shaped leaves that are moderately to densely powdery, and glossy black-and-gold mottled fruits about 1.2 millimeters across.
