Large-seeded goosefoot is a California native plant found in the northern Sierra Nevada, Modoc Plateau, and Warner Mountains and Wallowa bioregions in disturbed or open places, scrub, and conifer forest at elevations of 1,400 to 2,400 meters. Flowering from July to October, it grows 35 to 150 centimeters tall with broadly ovate to deltate, dark green leaves 25 to 150 millimeters long with wavy margins bearing 3 to 5 large teeth, and smooth fruits 1.5 to 3 millimeters across.
